We recommend measuring yourself for the best fit. Measure around your bust at the fullest point, your waist at the narrowest part, and your hips at the fullest part. Compare your measurements to our size chart to find your perfect fit. Our sizes range from 00-40 (4XS to 4XL). If you're between sizes, we recommend sizing up. What is Universal Sizing?

We thought conventional sizing seemed skewed, so we shifted the spotlight to reflect the real bell curve. If the average woman wears a size 18, then that should be called a Medium, right? Our sample size is an 18, and we engineer every single size from there to ensure the perfect fit for all of US. Our sizes range from 00-40 (4XS to 4XL in Universal Standard sizing).

What is your return and exchange policy?

We offer free shipping and fast returns. If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, you can return or exchange items through our Returns Portal at universalstandard.happyreturns.com. Exchanges are free for domestic customers. Please note that Final Sale items are not eligible for returns.

Any piece in the Fit Liberty collection is eligible for a one-year size exchange (beyond our standard return policy) should you go up or down in size within a year. What materials does Universal Standard use?

We use premium, carefully selected fabrics for comfort and durability. Each product page displays the specific fabric composition and care instructions under the Fabric & Care section. Our materials are chosen to maintain their quality wash after wash. Common fabrics include our signature Moro Ponte, premium cotton blends, and luxurious liquid jersey.

Sadly a miss

"I really wanted to love this sweater - the pattern is gorgeous and it looks so cozy. I love the soft sage color online, although it was a little too washed out in person. Unfortunately the weight of this knit is too plush for any winter in Seattle. I did size up based on reviews because I like a little oversize "cozy" in my sweater, but this was big in all the wrong places. It felt boxy and the sleeves were too big. The nail in the coffin for me is that it's knit in 4 panels leading to a large seam down the front - more prominent due to my large bust. For this price point I expected better."

I wanted to love this

"I wanted to love this. It's plush but really bulky - too bulky even for winter in Seattle. The bigger issue for me is it's made in 4 panels with prominent seams down the front and back. It looks not good and it's very obvious when worn. I would expect better for a sweater at this price point."

I love this sweater! You

"I love this sweater! You can already see from the photos that it’s got a beautiful knit pattern, but that’s just the start. It’s a great weight: warm but not too bulky. And then the smaller details that just work right: the length is flattering, the neck isn’t too tight or high, and the cuffs become helpfully tighter near the wrist, so that the sleeves aren’t dragging on anything. I’ll be wearing this all winter"

Nice sweater

"A soft warm sweater with an attractive cable pattern. I was a little dubious that the fabric would be "better than wool" but was pleasantly surprised-it is soft, thick and warm with an nice drape. Runs true to size--I wear a 16 or 18 in standard sizes and a US small fit perfectly, with room for layers underneath."

Looks bad. Not like the picture

"I am so disappointed with this sweater. On the model, it looks oversized and luxurious. I ordered my normal size but it runs very small. It looks short and honestly quite dumb on me. It's very warm and the fabric is nice, which is the only reason I didn't give it one star. I would return it if I could but it smelled funny when it arrived so I washed it. Avoid."

Not what I had hoped

"Seems like a quality sweater though I haven’t yet worn it because it arrived smelling funny. It runs smaller/shorter than I expected and it isn’t as lush as it appears on the models. If you want to look like they do, order a size or two bigger than normal. I’ll keep it because I washed it but it’s just OK."
