This is the shirtdress designed to keep you cool in warm weather. Our Perfect Tencel Chambray is cool, light, and smooth. It looks like traditional chambray, but feels soft and silky—and it’s machine washable, making it easy to care for too. Supremely comfortable, this dress features easy elbow-length sleeves, deep hip pockets, and a self-belt at the waist. Our front button placket has hidden snaps at the bust to prevent pulling and gaping, and we’ve added them to the chest pockets as well for a smooth, clean finish.

"Feeling fresh on in the new Perfect Tencel Chambray Short Sleeve Shirtdress in morning blue. It is paired with an old silk chiffon scarf handed down from an aunt. With [old] Skechers suede natural boots, it gives fall in Southern California, where today was a rare rain event. Thanx, Universal Standard for allowing size XL 26_28 to feel pretty! I am not the svelte 5'9" size 2XS_6-8, but I can enjoy quality clothes, too!"

"I was a little concerned that this dress would require some alterations as the bust size was significantly larger than my own. I’m pear shaped so it can be a struggle to wear straight cut dresses as the bodice is almost always much larger than my needs. But in this case, the way the dress is made with an inverted pleat at the back, it allows the bust to somewhat adjustable while still meeting my needs for more room in the hips. I had never thought about using an inverted pleat to do that and I’m now considering trying it out on a linen shirt dress that I have that is much too big in the bodice. The fabric of this dress is lovely—soft and breathable—just what I need for the very hot climate that I live in. Looking forward to wearing the dress to work very soon!"
